/// rolling studio residency ///
have a studio in your back pocket.
what could you get done if you actually had somewhere to do it?
the shoot you’ve had saved in your camera roll, the collection that’s still half an idea.
the portfolio you keep saying you’ll update, the client you could say yes to.
the song you need to rehearse, the content you’ve planned but haven’t made.
the project that could probably become something quite serious if you gave it somewhere to grow.
that’s what we want riónce to be for you.
not somewhere you have to live, just somewhere you can keep coming back to while you’re building whatever you’re building.
£60/month · 4 hours · rolling monthly
-
4 hours at riónce every month.
use all 4 in one go or split them up, subject to availability.
shoot paid work. make your own stuff. rehearse. sew. record. have a fitting. make content. update your portfolio. test an idea.
your hours don’t need to be productive, profitable or impressive.
they just need to be useful to you.
-
your hours can be booked across our available weekday slots.
we know you’ve probably got work, clients, freelance jobs and an actual life to work around, so you’re not tied to the same day every week.
see what’s available. book in. come down.
weekends stay reserved for our full-price hires, productions & events.
-
because there’s a slightly annoying middle ground.
you want somewhere familiar to make your work, but taking on your own space in london is a massive expense.
then every time you dry hire somewhere, you’re starting from scratch & paying the full rate again.
this sits somewhere in between.
a little bit of space that’s already yours each month, without taking on the responsibility of having your own.
we deal with the rent, bills, upkeep & boring bits.
you come in and use it.
-
not loads.
we actually tried the fixed-term thing recently.
nobody signed up lol.
and instead of pretending that didn’t happen, we thought about why.
creative work isn’t particularly predictable.
you might suddenly be really busy. go away. start a new job. get three clients at once. have a month where you don’t particularly feel like making anything.
so we’ve stopped asking everybody to commit to the same chunk of time.
start whenever you’re ready.
your residency rolls monthly.
if you decide you don’t need it anymore, just give us one month’s notice.
your life doesn’t have to revolve around riónce for riónce to have a place in it.
-
add success circle with rebecca.
£90/month altogether.
you’ll get your 4 hours at riónce + one success circle each month.
we’ve run these circles before and seen how useful it can be to have somewhere to stop for a minute, look at what you’re actually doing & work out what needs your attention next.
it’s a small-group check-in with rebecca for reflection, clarity & accountability.
because sometimes the issue isn’t having the idea.
it’s keeping it moving once real life starts happening again.
4 hours to work on it.
one circle to check in on it. -
because we’re four years in and we’ve just reopened.
and we’ll be transparent: things aren’t flowing how they were before we closed yet.
we’ve spent four years watching people walk through this door with an idea and leave with photographs, clothes, songs, films, friendships, events, businesses & things we couldn’t have predicted.
we want to keep giving those things somewhere to happen.
but for riónce to stay here, the space has to be used.
so rather than asking people to simply support an independent space, we’d rather make riónce genuinely useful to your life.
you help us keep the place going.
we keep a little bit of it here for you.
seems fair to us.
-
we’re only releasing a limited number of weekday rolling residencies.
there are only so many weekday hours we can share while protecting our existing residents, full hires & everything else that happens here.
once those hours have been allocated, we’ll close this intake.

" it sounds really dramatic, but it’s changed my life.
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BALANCE CREATIVITY AND LIFE FOR A WHILE. I MADE MORE MONEY IN THOSE FEW MONTHS THAN I HAVE IN THE LAST YEAR, GENUINELY.
I FEEL REALLY PROUD OF MYSELF & I HAVEN'T SAID THAT IN A LONG TIME.”
