the riónce ‘third space’ residency

…is a 16 week experience built on a studio ethos. a weekly irl hangout where people come to chill, make, chat, play, learn, connect, and have a good time. it’s welcoming, warm, calm, inclusive with no red laser beams.

what happens?

you turn up to the irl hangout, you settle in, & do your thing. some people make things, some people plan, some people share ideas, some people just need to be around other humans, & use the opportunity to do just that. there’s equipment around, there’s space to experiment, & room to let your mind be intentionally free.

  • the people. they’re kind, curious, eclectic, non-pretentious

    the intention & homeliness

    no videos culture

creative equipment available, & space that can be costly elsewhere is accessible here

    accountability is baked in

it’s real, a bit unusual, sometimes spontaneous

(it’s hard to explain - it’s an experience)

  • ages 25 to 45. founders, creatives, musicians, inquisitive minds. people who want a better life for themselves and actually want to be around likeminded people. people who want freedom to try things, be messy, get creative, and express themselves regularly.

people who don’t normally fit typical scenes but still want community.

  • close minded, jealous, rigid, cliquey energy. rudeness, discrimination, injustice. unnecessary drama, shouting, argumentative behaviour. people constantly on their phone, on loud calls, not present. people acting up for the camera. stoosh behaviour. disingenuous behaviour. bullying. constant negativity and self-deprecation.

also, not for people who don’t appreciate the fullness of an experience and its entirety, or people who move disrespectfully in shared spaces.

  • people arrive however they arrive, but they leave feeling better than when they came:

✓ calmer, happier, glad they came

    ✓ inspired & motivated

    ✓ proud, accomplished, recharged

    ✓ more confident, more creative

    ✓ less lonely, more connected

    ✓ more disciplined, more consistent

✓ with real progress on the things they keep saying they’ll do

after 16 weeks: more collaborators & friends, more experimentation, more productivity, more courage, more follow-through, more achievements; & for some, more financial progress too.

  • because third spaces & studios can be costly and hard to access. because loneliness is real. because a lot of social culture feels draining & performative. because people feel like they have to document everything to succeed, and it’s exhausting. because shallow networking is boring & unproductive. because isolation is crippling and makes people recover alone instead of connecting, which is one of the best healers we have.

riónce exists to prove you can build something meaningful without heavy video culture, & to give people a reliable place to return to that helps them feel better in themselves.

  • to reduce loneliness and increase belonging. to create a place that becomes a real part of people’s lives. to help people spend more time doing what they value, family, friends, personal projects, travel, growth. to show there’s a way to be free, to create, and to build a life you actually want.

  • openness, experimentation, personal development, actualisation. real life experiences.

  • minimum expectation: come to at least 2 sessions a month. you don’t have to be loud or super social, but you do need to be open. half-hearted energy doesn’t work in a space like this.

  • weekly studio hangouts are the core (at least 1 a week)

45-min accountability calls, once a month (on a friday)

monthly guest talks (scheduled in advance, tuesdays)

extra nights announced with 48 hours notice

solo studio time for personal projects as an extra (if you need)

  • 16 weeks is long enough to change, but not so long it feels overwhelming. you can see the end from the start. it’s manageable for people to commit to, and it helps us keep access to our third spaces sustainable & accessible.

  • £60 pcm, or £228 upfront for the full 16 weeks.

  • no videos in the space. photos are fine but be mindful of backgrounds. some nights there may be a professional photographer (our main documentation format). if someone doesn’t want to be photographed, it’s respected fully, no questions.

the rionce team may voice record talks, performances, or relevant audio in a designated recording area, as a way of keeping the important bits.

  • dm “third space” for application details. we’re selective, not on status - just on vibe & alignment. we’re looking for commitment to our why and to your own personal development.

  • no finale event. instead, at the end of the 16 weeks, we publish a zine-style set of articles/archive: think film / sepia photos, a few quotes, and a quiet record of what residents made over time. one month before the end, we message residents to confirm how they want to be included and what life after the residency could look like.

" it sounds really dramatic, but it’s changed my life.

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO BALANCE CREATIVITY AND LIFE FOR A WHILE. I THINK I MADE MORE MONEY IN THOSE FEW MONTHS THAN I HAVE IN THE LAST YEAR, GENUINELY.

I FEEL REALLY PROUD OF MYSELF & I HAVEN'T SAID THAT IN A LONG TIME.”
