this handbook covers how things work, key dates, what you get, and what’s expected of you if accepted for the winter studio residency [wave iv].

  • to keep things smooth and fair riónce hither green operates on a time-shared basis with 4-hour slots.

    this helps avoid overlaps and makes sure everyone gets meaningful time in the space. see slots as follows:

    • 7am to 11am (lark)

    • 11am to 3pm (honeybee)

    • 3pm to 7pm (wolf)

    • 7pm to 11pm (bear)

    • 11pm to 3am (owl)

    please note your access to these slots will vary depending on your residency type, home studio location, availability, and how far in advance you book.

    your allocated residency studio hours can only be redeemed during the days and times listed on your shortlist confirmation email/ letter. e.g:

    • pathway [c] residents can use up to 24 hours of priority studio time

  • you’ll be able to use the space with up to 8 of your people.

    if you want to bring a bigger crew, just let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

  • weekend access is not included in your residency pathway*. if you wish to request a weekend / out of standard residency hours slot, this is possible and charged separately (speak with the team).

    • no contribution if backdrop is kept clean and only touches the floor (not rolled out, stepped on, or soiled)

    • £12.50 contribution if backdrop is rolled out, stepped on, or soiled

    • godox lights: no contribution

    • most items require no contribution, but do confirm use with the riónce admin team via whatsapp if unsure

    • personal storage: not permitted unless in exceptional case and agreed in writing.

[additional info & terms

    • cancel studio bookings 7+ days in advance

    • first 2 late cancellations = £0 contribution

    • further late cancellations = £40 contribution per 2hr block @ LADYWELL & £125 PER 2HR block at penda

    • keep the studio in great condition (e.g. bin, dehumidifier, loo roll etc.)

    • show up as your full creative self remembering you can only pour into others cup if you have already poured into your own

    • leave the studio in the same condition you wish to find it in

    • no events or workshops without written agreement

    • you must be on-site for all bookings, no studio lending allowed

    • any damages must be covered by you

    • cctv may be active at riónce ladywell and other studio sites

    • address: penda studios address unit 23, station passage, peckham, london, se15 2jr

    • booking: send dates in via whatsapp messenger

    • access hours: stated in offer letter / pathway details email

    • closed: monday

    • gate & lockbox codes provided at the start of your residency (do not share these with anyone, ever).

    • for general/ resident safety and security purposes, a log form must be filled & approved ahead of your slot containing names, numbers, emails and instagrams of those who on site max 8 people per priority session unless otherwise agreed.

    • generally there is no issue, but for any reason if you’d like to have additional people on site you’ll need to contact the riónce admin team for confirmation before they arrive and step foot onto any of the riónce premises.

    • under 16s are not allowed without prior written agreement

    • music allowed at moderate volume

    • maintain quiet outside the building

    • no weed or illegal substances on-site

    • alcohol allowed; sensible use only

    • no smoking or vaping indoors; smoke machines require permission

    • you agree to be filmed for documentation, interviews and ripple fund research

    • riónce arts club may share your content across its platforms for promotional purposes

    • you retain copyright but grant riónce a non-exclusive license to use content for marketing

contribution payment breakdown, schedule & deposit.

  • this is a part-funded residency. riónce covers 75% of the real value, and you contribute 25%.

    your contribution reflects both your commitment to showing up and our belief in your potential.

    you’re not paying for a space; you’re investing in your process, your growth, and your future in a holistic, collaborative and aligned way.

  • studio access: may 1st 2026 – aug 30th 2026

    you’ll begin your residency in april and receive 4 months of studio access.

    1. apr 28th — deposit

      (once deposit + may 1st payment has been made, you can start using the studio straight away)

    2. may 28th — june monthly contribution

    3. june 28th — july monthly contribution

    4. july 28th — aug monthly contribution

    studio access period: 1st may 2026 – 30th aug 2026 (4 months)

  • all studio access ends on 30th aug 2026.

    deposits will be returned or offered as credit within 90 days, based on your participation and the condition of the space.

    the exhibition will take place end of 2026 with final dates confirmed nearer the time.

    • this is a 4-month residency. accepted applicants are chosen because we genuinely believe you’ll make the most of this opportunity.

    • everyone here is over 18 (grown grown) & we’re not here to helicopter-parent or police you. we put our all into you and the services we provide here, and in return expect full participation.

    • if it starts looking like you’re drifting or disappearing, we’ll check in;  not to chase, but to understand what’s going on and help you realign before things go too left.

    • riónce arts club reserves the right to end your residency if terms are breached.

    • this includes failure to communicate. if we don’t hear from you or if you ghost us, your residency may be withdrawn.

    • be respectful of everyone’s opinions. we don’t all have to agree, but what we do agree on is staying kind and as loving as possible. if something comes up that you can’t resolve between yourselves, message the riónce admin team directly on whatsapp & we’ll handle it from there.

    • the program is 4 months. running from 1st may 2026 to 30th aug 2026

    • during this time you’ll have access to the studio, mandatory success circle group calls, 1-1 coaching sessions, pastoral check-ins and community events.

  • you’ve been matched to one of our studios based on your practice/ business, project(s) and availability:

    • ladywell – 650 sqft great for shoots, creative work, small/med events under 20 people

    • hither green - 450 sqft great for compact shoots with a rustic feel

    • penda – 1500 sqft, ideal for shoots or large events of 50 to 100ppl

    you’ll receive details about your location, access instructions via whatsapp.

    • a designated number of priority studio hours each month (at your allocated studio)

    • co-working days at riónce ladywell (and on occasion at other sites)

    • monthly group business coaching call with rebecca page-chapman (success circle)

    • 1-1 creative consultancy with oleta semple

    • monthly pastoral check-in with the riónce team

    • access to our riónce whatsapp community group

    • spotlight feature on the riónce site

    • option to book eleventh-hour studio slots

    • guaranteed place at the riónce gala & exhibition

    • special rates on riónce bookings across all studios

    • you may book priority & shared (time-share) studio hours as far as 3 weeks in advance or 48hrs before your studio start time.

    • any last-minute availability or cancellations, will be posted on the portal/ shared on the whatsapp group, with studio time available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • on some fridays, residents are invited to share the space with each other at riónce ladywell and on occasion off-site. use it to work quietly, body double, share progress, or meet others.

  • you’ll receive an invite to a monthly online group session run by our business coach rebecca page-chapman. the focus is practical: structure, direction, and sorting through mental clutter.

    dates will be shared with you directly.

  • you’ll meet for 15 to 30 mins each month on google meets.

    useful if you need support, clarity, structure or help getting unstuck.

    oleta / your strategist will help you make confident decisions, build an aligned brand, and move closer to your goals.

  • we’ll check in with you from time to time on whatsapp to make sure things are working. if you’re stuck, burnt out, or unsure how to move forward, just say.

  • you’ll be added to the riónce residency whatsapp group — a space for sharing updates, encouragement, slot swapping, light promo of riónce related projects you’re running and casual chats with other residents.

  • during your residency you’ll be highlighted on rionce.co/wall with a short Q&A, images of your work, and anything you want to share.

    • use your studio hours within each month, unless agreed otherwise

    • cancel bookings you can’t attend (72hr notice minimum)

    • clean and reset the studio after use

    • don’t let anyone in who hasn’t booked or been cleared with staff

    • respect others’ time and space

    • follow the riónce code of conduct

    • join at least one event a month during the residency

  • to ensure a fully beneficial experience, fund recipients are expected to get involved in:

    [3] case study/ spotlight feature: written article & video testimonial (produced by riónce)

    [4] maintaining standard studio etiquette

    • produce a ‘day/week in the life’ reel video once a month, showcasing your process.

    • share content on social media, tagging @rionceartsclub using the hashtag #rionceresidency.

    • collaborate on at least two posts with riónce arts club each month.

    • work as part of a team. invite collaborators, friends, or fellow creatives to join your projects in the studio. by building connections and working with others, you’ll create richer, more impactful work; and contribute to the vibrant, collaborative energy we’re fostering at riónce.

    • upload all bts & final images, videos, or project files to the designated shared folder for potential resharing and promotion.

  • you’ll be part of a wider group of curators, so we’d love you to share the love.

    we ask that you:

    • tag all collaborators on your posts for max visibility, aiming to invite them as collaborators too where posible

    • share your involvement in stories or feed

    • attend at least one community event a month

    • check in with your cohort every so often

    share the riónce studio residency post on your social media platforms/ stories, tagging @rionceartsclub.

  • you’ll be asked to participate in a blog feature, video testimonial, &/ or interview, sharing your journey and experiences with the riónce community.

    [a] blog feature

    your story in writing. an article will be written about who you are, what you create, and how the studio residency has helped you grow. this will be featured as part of a case study exploring the barriers to creativity and productivity. we’ll also post it on our website and social media, allowing potential collaborators and clients to learn more about your work.

    what we need from you:

    • honest answers from you to reflective questions asked on a call/ real life meet with the riónce team (virtual or in-person).

    • high-quality images of your work or behind-the-scenes studio shots to accompany the post

    you’ll create a 1–2 minute video reflecting on your experience at riónce arts club. the video will be shared on our website, instagram, and newsletters to promote the ripple fund and inspire future participants.

    the video could include:

    • how the studio and community have impacted your creative journey.

    • what you’ve achieved during your ripple fund period.

    why you’d recommend the riónce arts club to others.

    [c] interview feature

    (selected residents only)
    a conversational q&a, filmed by us where you discuss your creative process, challenges, and insights. this will give the riónce audience an inside look at your work and journey.

  • maintain the cleanliness of the studio/ shared spaces and be responsible for any damages during your use.

  • you won’t be able to roll over hours to the next month but you can message the team to find out if there are any other options available to you.

  • you can request a swap but it’s subject to availability and studio manager approval.

  • we’ll have a chat about how things have gone nearer the end of the residency. if we’re still aligned we’ll discuss what staying on & continuing to use the space looks like.
