from october to december, i'd like to work alongside the honor oak as its cultural programming + partnerships partner.

i'd develop the programme, bring suitable organisers + communities from my network, find new opportunities, develop recurring event residencies and create some riónce programming of our own.

not everything needs to be big. one evening might bring 30 people upstairs, another might bring 80 people through the pub, and occasionally we might create something much larger.

the aim is simply to create more good reasons for people to come, stay + return.

i'm particularly interested in residencies rather than constantly producing one-offs.

if somebody creates a brilliant night, gathering or concept, we give it a few dates and see what it can become. that gives organisers somewhere to build, gives the honor oak repeat custom and gives us the opportunity to develop things people genuinely want back.

the new kitchen can become part of that too. rather than bringing in competing food concepts, i'd first understand what they're building and look at how our programming could support it.

our first event also led to riónce caribbean, which we're building to create more reasons for caribbean people + families to spend time together through functions, culture, stories + experiences.

i don't want the honor oak to become a riónce venue. i'd much rather riónce caribbean + riónce arts club become two of many communities that regularly have a home there.

for me to properly commit the time, relationships + energy needed to do this well, i'm proposing £3,500 per month + 10% of attributable bar sales from agreed riónce-originated programming.

the monthly fee covers the ongoing work behind the programme; curation, sourcing, outreach, partnerships, organiser relationships, programme development + coordination.

the percentage means our interests stay aligned. if the activity i bring into the honor oak generates more revenue, riónce participates in that growth too.

across the three months, the fixed partnership investment would be £10,500 + performance commission.

where riónce creates + produces its own events, the honor oak keeps its bar revenue and riónce keeps its ticketing, sponsorship + relevant vendor income, with the agreed bar percentage still applying.

larger production costs, talent, security, photography, videography + other specialist requirements would be agreed separately rather than absorbed into the monthly fee.

the honor oak also keeps control of the pub, its operations, licensing, staffing, capacity + final approval. riónce keeps ownership of its brands, concepts, communities + independently developed activity.

i don't think we need to pretend we know exactly what will work before we start.

october to december gives us enough time to try things, pay attention to attendance + bar performance, see what people want again and learn which ideas deserve to grow.

i love the idea of the honor oak becoming even more of a second home for people in south east london; somewhere you can come for a drink, hear something, celebrate something, meet somebody, make something happen or simply spend time.

the honor oak already has the place. riónce already has people looking for places. i'd love to see what happens when we connect the two properly.

then in december, we look at what we've built + the numbers behind it and decide what makes sense for 2027.
