windrush wealth x @ms.semple
making wealth + legacy easier to understand, talk about + act on.
an intergenerational content + storytelling proposal by oleta semple | oct 2026
——————
congratulations to you luke on bringing this together. the expo feels timely, important and aligned with the work i’m already doing through @ms.semple + riónce caribbean.
-
there is a natural connection between windrush wealth, family, culture, ownership + intergenerational stories.
my role would be to make the day feel warm, human + engaging while documenting the people and conversations already in the room.
the content should feel story-led rather than overly instructional: moments that make people stop, recognise themselves + want to be part of what is happening.
-
most of my audience is 25–34,
followed by 35–44 + 45–55.
the expo creates an opportunity to naturally bring generations towards conversations + next steps around wealth + investment.
rather than focusing only on inheritance, wills or financial planning, the content i’d create before, during + after would explore the memories, humour, hopes + experiences behind family wealth + legacy.
possible questions include:
✓ where were you born + what is your earliest memory?
✓ what did your parents teach you about money, directly or indirectly?
✓ what did they never talk about?
✓ what did you dream of becoming?
✓ what is a story your family tells repeatedly?
✓ what do you understand differently about your parents now?
✓ what do you wish you had asked them earlier?
✓ what do you hope your children remember about you?
✓ what does legacy mean to you?
✓ what brought you to the expo + what do you hope to take away?
these questions allow conversations about property, inheritance, ownership + financial responsibility to come through real experiences rather than feeling forced.
-
/// what i’d bring to the day ///
windrush wealth already has its own team covering luke + the wider event.
my team would focus specifically on the people experiencing it.
✓ 2 x pre-event videos through @ms.semple
✓ me speaking to attendees, families, speakers + exhibitors
✓ my own videographer following me throughout the day
✓ content assistant / runner managing people, consent + our content checklist
✓ reactions after talks while the information is still fresh
✓ edited short-form content after the event
✓ light same-day story coverage through 1 social medium account of choice
✓ one 30–45 minute intergenerational entertainment segment in the evening
✓ for the larger options, riónce caribbean can come in as the storytelling partner, with branded interviews + a more developed series of content from the day
✓ the premium option can also turn the event into something physical through a riónce caribbean zine feature, polaroids, handwritten notes + a one-off story archive from the first expo
the result is another side of the event: what people came thinking, what they discovered + what they leave wanting to do next.
the proposal
three simple conversation themes
-
the things families have passed down through money, property, culture, habits, advice + things that were never really spoken about.
-
rather than repeating what people have already heard in the talks, we can catch them afterwards explaining what they learned, what surprised them + what they’re going to do with that information.
questions could be as simple as:
✓ what did you just learn?
✓ what surprised you?
✓ what do you understand differently now?
✓ what do you wish you knew sooner?
✓ what are you going home to ask your family?
-
the next step after learning something.
✓ what are you actually going to do after today?
✓ what conversation do you need to have with your family?
✓ what have you been putting off?
✓ what do you want the next generation to know?

things to note…
-
how my team would work
i’d lead the conversations + interviews.
my videographer would stay with me throughout the day.
my content assistant / runner would keep track of consent, who we’ve spoken to, who we still want to speak to + what we still need to capture.
anyone we interview or photograph would be asked for permission before their content is used.
-
i’m happy to share a small amount of live coverage through @ms.semple during the day, while the event is happening.
this could include:
✓ setup + arrival
✓ moments from around the event
✓ something interesting i’ve learned
✓ quick attendee moments
✓ letting people know the event is still happening + that there are tickets available where relevant
the aim is simply to let people see what is happening in real time + potentially bring a few more people down later in the day.
-
intergenerational entertainment
i’d host one 30–45 minute section designed to get different generations talking + laughing together.
this could include questions + games around caribbean culture, music, family, childhood memories, generational differences + money habits.
after that, the evening can continue with whatever you / the team have planned.
-
where it fits
for options 02 + 03, riónce caribbean becomes the visible storytelling partner behind the interviews.
this could include the branded mic, recurring interview format, selected posts through riónce caribbean + collaborative posts where they make sense.
it does not need to mean a full windrush wealth x riónce caribbean partnership.
it simply gives some of the stories another relevant place to live + allows us to see whether there is potential for something longer term.
-
a physical home for the stories
the riónce caribbean zine would be a twice-yearly printed + digital publication documenting caribbean people, families, culture, ownership, memory + what gets passed down.
the first issue would cover the early months of riónce caribbean through roughly august–october 2026, with windrush wealth as one of its main features.
after the first issue, the plan would be:
/// summer · april–september ///
/// winter · october–march ///the windrush wealth feature would sit amongst wider riónce caribbean stories rather than reading like an advert.
-
before the event, we would agree:
✓ filming + attendee consent
✓ where the finished content can be used
✓ use across windrush wealth, luke’s platform, @ms.semple + riónce caribbean
✓ zine usage where relevant
✓ collaborative posts where agreed
-
if we decide to go ahead
✓ choose the preferred option
✓ agree filming + usage
✓ confirm the event-day schedule
✓ confirm the evening slot
✓ identify any people luke particularly wants us to speak to
✓ begin pre-event content + preparation
-
i’m already building riónce caribbean through events, content + community, so there are a few natural ways this could continue if the first event works well.
✓ windrush wealth talks, workshops or smaller sessions at future riónce caribbean events
✓ content days / interviews at my south london studio
✓ luke or windrush wealth joining relevant member events + conversations
✓ future collaborations around property, investing, family wealth + intergenerational topics
i’m also currently in talks with the honor oak about more regular events after our jamaican independence event sold out, and developing more work connected to tobago, their tourism economy + the wider caribbean.
for me, this first expo is a good chance to see how we work together, what feels natural + whether there’s room to do more together afterwards.
ultimately, the information is important + it needs to travel further than the people who are able to make it into the room on the day.
not everyone who needs to hear it is gonna be there, so the content gives people another way into the conversation through real people, what they learned, what surprised them + what they’re gonna do next.
from there, some people might wanna learn more, start investing, look at property differently or get more involved in building + protecting wealth through windrush wealth.
and in the grand scheme of things, it’s really just about helping more of our community get access to conversations + information + wealth we’ve unfortunately for reasons outside of our control, been behind on for generations.
looking forward to seeing what we can do together!
